Correct. The Bust-A-Ride GES is EAPC (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle) compliant under UK law. This means it's legally classified as a bicycle, not a motor vehicle. You don't need a driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance, or road tax. You simply need to be 14 or older to ride.
Twist and go means you can accelerate using the throttle alone without needing to pedal. Simply twist the grip and the motor takes over. You also have pedal-assist mode if you prefer some exercise. Both modes are capped at the legal limit of 15.5 mph.
You can travel between 40-60km (25-37 miles) on a single charge, depending on terrain, rider weight, and which mode you use. The removable 48V 7.5Ah battery takes 3-5 hours to fully charge from empty.
As an EAPC-compliant bike, you can ride on roads and in cycle lanes throughout the UK. You follow the same rules as regular cyclists. You cannot ride on pavements (unless local signs specifically permit cycling).
